The Bfour wireless thermometer probe communicates with a remote "Booster" (looks like a tv remote control) that further communicates with an app on your phone that lets you set the degree units (F or C) and the temperature at which to sound alarm when that temperature is reached. So you don't have to constantly hover over the grill. This is a real convenience when you're busy doing many things at a party and want a warning so your food is cooked to the correct temperature but you don't overcook or burn it. You charge the Booster with a standard USB-C connection while the thermometer probe is snapped into the back of the booster like a battery. Works well!
To use it you need to download the accompanying app from the Google Playstore or Apple App Store.
You need to charge it for 2 minutes before you use it. The screen will notify you when charging is complete.
It is fairly easy to use. I forgot to take a photo of the thermometer in the turkey, but I took a video and photos of the monitor as the thermometer was in the turkey in the oven and the temperature was rising. If I get a chance to use it on cornish hens for Christmas, I will take a photo of the thermometer in one of the hens and will update the review to include the photo.
The thermometer is oven safe up to 752 degrees F. The brand claims that the monitor can be up to 328F (unobstructed) from the thermometer. For me, I was a few rooms away from the oven in my bedroom and the monitor told me that it was out of range from the thermometer, but this might be because the furniture obstructed the range.
